2011 Favourites!

These items have been constantly used by me in 2011 and so I thought I would share them with you, everything from make-up to skincare.

My favourite eyeshadow palete of 2011- The Naked Palette by Urban Decay
Got this product in about July on the plane home from my holiday, my friend already had it and I was using hers everyday on holiday so I had to buy it.
I love the fact that I use every colour and they are all so pigmented and stay on my eyes all day. My favourite colours are: Naked, Half Baked and Toasted but as I have said I use them all. Although it retails at around £30 in the UK its a definate must have if you love neutral eye shadows.

Favourite Foundation: Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation.
I love the coverage this foundation gives me, I have oily skin myself and so I usually like a lot of coverage. I bought this again back in July in the colour cashew beige and now my tan has worn away I no longer match the colour so I cannot wait until summer comes back round again so I can wear it once more. Again it has quite a hefty price tag at £33 but again i'm not bothered about paying for something if I know it works and I will get my money out of it.

Favourite Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
At only £3.99 this is a bargin. I've tried other more expensive powders and have always come back to this. Firstly I love the smell, it has almost a perfume like smell which I like. Secondly the coverage is amazing it gives me that extra coverage when I need it. I do wear powder most days and I especially like the finish this one gives me.
Favorite Mascara: Maybelline Falsies in black drama.
I have always been a fan of Maybelline mascaras. I have to admit I have not really pushed the boat out in trying many different ones this year probably because I like this one so much. My eyelashes are short and straight and so I need volume. This mascara doesn't make my eyes look clumpy and adds just the right amount to make my eyes pop. At £7.99 in my eyes it's a total bargin!
Favourite Concealer: Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection
If you read many blogs then you will probably be sick of hearing about this concealer. But it's true it is the best. It's creamy formula is great for covering under eye circles and blemishes. I am in the shade medium three and have managed to use this all year round. Again at £3.69 you can't go wrong.
Favourite Lipstick: Lasting Finsish by Kate Moss for Rimmel
My shade 03 is the most neutral out of the collection. I use this most days as it keep my lips hydrated and the colour is my perfect neutral. However my favourite brand of lipstick would have to be MAC however this has somehow been my most used all year. Plus it is a lot cheaper than MAC at around £5

Favourite Blush: Mac Melba
I discovered this blush in may 2011 whilst in London and am so glad I bought it. I have used it most days of 2011 and it hasn't even made a dent. The corally undertones of the blush seem to compliment my skin well and give me some life in my cheeks even in the winter! A MAC blush is around £17.00 but again considering this hasn't even made a dent I believe will last me a very long time to come and so is worth the money.

Favourite Eyeliner: Liner in Etch - Topshop
When I first purchased this eyeliner back in the beginning of 2011 I didn't like it. It wasn't creamy enough or black enough and I never seemed to get enough product on my brush. However skip forward a few more months and I tried to use it again this time with a different eye liner brush and I loved it. It is ironic however that the thing I most like about the product it is not a creamy formula. It seems like it takes alot of product to get it as black as you need but it turns out I really like the consistancy.

Favourite Brushes: The Body Shop blending brush, Avon blush brush, Elf eye shadow brush and Maybelline eye liner brush.
2011 was the year where I really got into brushes. However I didn't want to spend lots of money and so these brushes were my favourite afforable burshes all £12.00 and under. The body shop blending brush was my go to eye shadow brush; it blended all my eyeshadows together effortlessly. My avon blush brush makes putting blush on so easy, it adds just the right amount of product and because of the angle it makes it easy to add to my cheeks. My elf eye shadow brush was a bargin at £1.50 and is great for those days where you only want one eyeshadow. And my Maybelline eye liner brush came with their gel eyeliner and I love how easily I can apply my eyeliner with this brush.

Favourite Hair Product: Tresemme heat defence
I am not the type of girl who uses heat on her hair every day. But when I do use heat I always make sure my hair is protected, however it wasn't until 2011 that I actually began doing this and it really has helped my hair. The nozzle gives an even spray of product and it smells just like the shampoo which is always an added extra, it also doesn't leave my hair too wet meaning I don't have to wait too long before applying heat.
Favourite face skincare product: Garnier eye roll on
This product I have used everyday throughout the whole of 2011 and I love it. On a morning after I have moisturised my face I put this on underneath my eyes and it not only wakes me up, but makes my eyes look brighter and less tired. I have to admit it isn't an essential in your skincare routine but I will definatley be re-purchasing this as I feel that it helps with my under eye circles as it has caffine as one of it's main ingredients. It has lasted me all year and I am only half way through the bottle and it's only £9.99!

Favourite shower product: Lush Snow Fairy
This smells sooo good! I first discovered this shower gel last christmas in Lush as it is a christmas limited edition product. So basically I used snow fairy for the first couple of months of 2011 and then the last couple. However I have been bought three bottles of it for christmas so am looking forward to smelling like sweets for a while longer. I just love the smell and the colour and how it makes my skin feel, basically in my eyes nothing compared. End of.

Favourite Moisturiser: Vasaline Cocoa radiant
Apart from the odd body butter from the body shop this is basically the only moisturiser I have used all year. It smells like cocoa and is not too thick or thin. Some products make my skin itchy once I have used them but this leaves my skin feeling silky smooth. This product is so widely available in the UK too which helps meaning I don't have to go into the city centre.
I hope you found this helpful and enjoyed reading. Let me know what you think and what your favourite products of 2011 are.
Love Abby x
